Focus Group

The U.S. EPA uses focus groups to gain more insight on how a community may accept or reject various clean-up activities and to evaluate the effectiveness of established processes.  The technique is an effective tool in sociological research and the focus group that we organized was facilitated by Professor Phylis Martinelli.

Focus Group Bios

Five members of the Alameda NAS RAB completed a survey of their education, experiences, and time serving on the RAB.

Focus Group Comments

The focus group session was recorded to understand the movitations of these volunteers and give voice to concerns raised by them.

Student's Perspectives on RABs

One assignment in the Learning Community was to learn about RAB's using government web materials.  Students were directed to write a summary.  This was in preparation for conducting a focus group with some members of the Alameda NAS RAB.
